Last weekend, my girls had their dreams come true and we visited the American Girl store for the first time. I wasn’t super excited, but boy, my kids were excited. After visiting, I must admit, it was awesome! My girls were giggling and cute the whole time. It was quite the experience.

After getting each of the girls a doll and some accessories, my organizational voice inside began to ask “where are we going to store all this stuff?”. I knew that the boxes the doll came in were great and should be kept for storage/memorabilia. So, I thought about it and came up with a plan.

I grabbed the following items:

-double stick tape
-drill (this is my go to impact driver…love it https://amzn.to/37ZcUsL)
-wood closet bar – about 8” (I got mine from Home Depot for another project).
-cabinet screws (Any screw should work, but I went cabinet screws so the wide head could hold the cardboard box)
-mitre saw
-doll clothes hangers (these are perfect https://amzn.to/34KhCZc)
-wrapping paper —optional (here is mine.. I have used this for several projects around the house https://amzn.to/2TG3PNh)

This project was super quick (talking 10 minutes to do both). I took the front (red part of the box) off. I cut the wood bar to the width of the back part of the box. Then, placed the wood bar about 3 inches from the top and flush with the front of the box. Then, I used the impact driver to screw the bar into the box.

Then, I put the front of the box on the back and used some double sided tape to tape any gaps. After assembling, I decided to grab some decorative wrapping paper that I had laying around to add some fun to the back wall. Here is the finished product…this wasn’t necessary but made the closet a little more polished/fun.
